Titled Dhurandhar: The Revenge, the film continues the gripping story from the first part and promises an even bigger scale of action and drama. Within minutes of the trailer release, fans flooded the internet with reactions, with many claiming the sequel could become another record-breaking blockbuster.Ranveer Singh returns as undercover agent but this time we are going explore how he became a one. The film features Ranveer Singh in the lead role, reprising his powerful character. In the story, he plays a R&AW agent who goes undercover as a gangster named Hamza. His mission takes him deep into the dangerous crime world of Lyari, where he attempts to dismantle a terror network operating from Pakistan.
The trailer hints that his character may become the next “Lyari ka badshah” (king of Lyari). The sequel continues his mission as Jaskirat Singh Rangi, who operates from within the gang to take down a terror network. As the action unfolds, Ranveer Singh along with R Madhavan seeks revenge. The trailer ends with him declaring that India will now decide the future of Pakistan
Dhurandhar’s historic box office success
The first film proved to be a massive success at the box office. According to reports, Dhurandhar earned approximately Rs 838.5 crore in domestic net collections, making it one of the highest-grossing films of the year.Globally, the film reportedly crossed a staggering Rs 1,305.35 crore at the worldwide box office. The movie’s huge commercial success helped it achieve cult status among fans and even surpass the collections of Pushpa 2: The Rule to become the highest-grossing Hindi film of all time.
Interestingly, despite facing a ban in certain parts of the Middle East, the film continued to gain popularity internationally. Actor R. Madhavan had earlier revealed that some fans even travelled to India just to watch the movie in theatres after it was restricted in their regions.
Apart from Ranveer Singh, the upcoming movie also features a powerful supporting cast. Actors Sanjay Dutt and Arjun Rampal return to the franchise, along with R. Madhavan.
The sequel has been produced by Jio Studios and B62 Studios, while the music rights are handled by T-Series. Dhurandhar: The Revenge is scheduled for a pan-India theatrical release on March 19, 2026. The release date coincides with major festivals such as Eid, Gudi Padwa and Ugadi, which could further boost the film’s box office prospects.
