Dhurandhar 2 could break Rs 1000 crore box office collections in Hindi, trade experts say
Dhurandhar 2: The Revenge has stormed the box office, rewriting record books. As per early trends on the official release day today (Day 1), the film is running across nearly 9,000 shows nationwide and has already added around Rs 24 crore on its first day, pushing its total figures (Day 0 and Day 1) close to about Rs 75 crore, according to Sacnik.com. These numbers are expected to rise further as final collections come in, indicating a roaring start.

Dhurandhar 2 box office collections and records

Headlined by Ranveer Singh and directed by Aditya Dhar, the film has already set a new benchmark for Bollywood premieres, collecting over Rs 50 crore gross across all versions during its preview screenings (Day 0), comfortably surpassing previous records, according to box office tracker Sacnik.com. The Dhurandhar sequel is now gearing up to challenge even bigger records. On its opening day, it will take on the Hindi box office benchmark set by Shah Rukh Khan’s Jawan, which recorded Rs 66 crore.

Trade experts believe that if the current trend continues, the film could not only surpass opening-day records but also aim for the elusive Rs 1,000 crore net mark in Hindi, a milestone achieved by only a handful of blockbusters like Pushpa 2: The Rule and Baahubali 2: The Conclusion.

The momentum has been driven by extraordinary demand, prompting theatres in major cities to introduce post-midnight and early-morning screenings, an extremely rare move for a Hindi film. Exhibitors in Mumbai, Pune, and Ahmedabad have scheduled shows as early as 2 am, reflecting the scale of audience frenzy.

In a symbolic shift, Mumbai’s iconic Maratha Mandir theatre, known for its decades-long screening of Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge, has temporarily adjusted its schedule to accommodate multiple shows of Dhurandhar: The Revenge. Such changes underline the film’s extraordinary pull across audiences.

Backed by producers Jyoti Deshpande and Lokesh Dhar, the film follows the journey of Jaskirat Singh Rangi, who transforms into covert operative Hamza Ali Mazari, navigating the dangerous underworld of Karachi. The ensemble cast includes R. Madhavan, Arjun Rampal, and Sanjay Dutt.
