Consistent performance keeps the film ahead
The strong Day 13 numbers shows the film’s remarkable hold at the box office, especially during weekdays when collections usually drop sharply. Trade observers note that the film’s performance has remained stable due to positive word of mouth and repeat viewings, particularly in urban centres and multiplex circuits. With its current numbers, Dhurandhar 2: The Revenge has already overtaken the lifetime India collections of several big-ticket films, including KGF: Chapter 2, RRR and Kalki 2898 AD. The film has also crossed the Hindi version collections of Pushpa 2: The Rise, further establishing itself as one of the highest-grossing Hindi releases in recent years.
Franchise advantage boosts collections
The sequel benefited from the massive success of its predecessor, Dhurandhar (2025), which was the highest-grossing Hindi film of that year. The strong fan following built by the first installment translated into record-breaking advance bookings and packed theatres during the opening weekend of the sequel.Backed by Jio Studios and B62 Studios, the film expanded its scale with more elaborate action sequences and an international storyline, helping it perform strongly in both domestic and overseas markets.
Viral image controversy addressed
Amid its box office success, the film briefly found itself at the centre of a social media controversy after an image surfaced online showing Ranveer Singh’s character, Jaskirat, allegedly smoking while wearing a turban. The image sparked criticism from some users who questioned its sensitivity.Director Aditya Dhar later clarified on social media that the image being circulated was not from the film and had been digitally manipulated. He stated that the viral picture was AI-generated and urged viewers not to believe or share misleading visuals.
With its worldwide total already nearing Rs 1,450 crore, Dhurandhar 2: The Revenge is now expected to cross the Rs 1,500 crore mark in the coming days if the current trend continues. Stay tuned!
