Dharmendra gets his Covid booster shot, shares a message with fans

Veteran Bollywood actor Dharmendra has received his Covid-19 booster shot, the star revealed on Wednesday. Booster shots are additional vaccine injected after the person has finished his course of double doses of Covid shots and is fully vaccinated against the virus.

The 86-year-old took to his official Twitter handle to share a video of himself getting the booster dose. The actor is heard saying in the video that "I am taking the booster shot and it doesn't even hurt."

"Booster le raha hun, booster. Dard bhi nahi hua kuchh," he says in the video. He further says that everyone should get the shot, adding that it's necessary to always have your mask on.


Sharing the video, Dharmendra also urged his fans to get vaccinated. "Friends, humble request please take the booster dose," he tweeted alongside the video.
According to reports, a booster dose of the Covid-19 vaccine adds to the overall protection against the coronavirus by giving people extra immunity after they have received the first two doses of the vaccination.

Health and frontline workers and people above 60 years old with comorbidities are currently eligible to take the jab against the virus as the country has been reporting a surge in Covid-19 cases.

The drive to give booster shot began as the whole world battles a spike in Covid cases fuelled by the emergence of Omicron variant of the coronavirus.
