Demonetisation: No big, fat Indian wedding for Sanjay Reddy's son

Keshav and Veena Reddy will tie the knot on January 29 in Hyderabad.

Demonetisation: No big, fat Indian wedding for Sanjay Reddy's son
Demonetisation has shrunk the big fat Indian wedding. Making a conscious decision, GVK Group’s Vice -Chairman Sanjay Reddy and wife Aparna have decided to considerably scale down their son Keshav’s wedding to Veena Reddy. Their decision has been taken, keeping in mind the struggles of demonetisation and the general mood of the nation.

Back in 2011, the wedding of their daughter Mallika was the talk of the town — news of designer mandaps, extravagant gifts and guests being flown in in chartered planes dominated headlines.

Aparna, however, confirmed that they were opting for a relatively low-key ceremony for Keshav. “We had dreams of a grand wedding, but given the current situation in India we have cut down [the number of people] to only those who are important to us,” she said.

“It’s not the venue or decor that make a good wedding, but the people and their goodwill. Since we are blessed with the latter, we are going ahead with a downsized wedding ceremony for Keshav.” The big day is on January 29 in Hyderabad.
