Demon Slayer Infinity Castle OTT release date confirmed: When and where to watch the highest-earning anime movie of all time in India

Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba - The Movie: Infinity Castle Part 1 has enjoyed a dream run since its theatrical release, becoming one of the biggest anime successes ever. The film not only thrilled fans with its intense action and emotional storytelling but also rewrote box-office history across several countries. Months after dominating cinemas worldwide, the blockbuster is finally preparing for its digital debut, giving anime lovers another chance to experience Tanjiro's biggest battle yet. However, there is one catch for viewers in India.

Streaming details of Demon Slayer Infinity Castle, but with a twist

Netflix officially announced on July 4 that Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle Part 1 will begin streaming across several Asian countries from July 28. However, the streaming giant clarified that the release will cover Asia excluding Japan, Mainland China and India.

This means Indian fans will not be able to watch the film on Netflix when it arrives later this month. As of now, there is no confirmed OTT release date for India, and viewers will have to wait for an official announcement regarding its availability in the country.


Meanwhile, several media reports have claimed that the movie is also expected to stream on Crunchyroll following its theatrical run for Indian viewers. According to these reports, the platform is likely to offer both subtitled and dubbed versions of the film, although an official India release date has not yet been confirmed.

A record-breaking journey at the box office

Directed by Haruo Sotozaki and produced by Ufotable, Infinity Castle Part 1 serves as the first chapter of the highly anticipated Infinity Castle trilogy. It continues the story after the Hashira Training Arc, taking the popular anime into its final and most dangerous battle.


Apart from breaking worldwide records, the movie also emerged as the highest-grossing Japanese film and the highest-grossing anime movie in North America. Its phenomenal success even led to a limited theatrical re-release in North America after audiences continued to show strong demand.

According to Variety report, Infinity Castle Part 1 completed an extraordinary 266-day theatrical run. During that period, it collected approximately ¥40.21 billion (around $271.1 million) in Japan alone while selling nearly 27.4 million tickets.

Despite its historic worldwide performance, the film narrowly missed becoming Japan's biggest anime blockbuster. Demon Slayer: Mugen Train continues to hold that record in Japan, remaining the country's highest-grossing anime film.

What is Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle about?

The movie picks up immediately after the events of the Hashira Training Arc. Tanjiro Kamado and the elite members of the Demon Slayer Corps are suddenly drawn into the mysterious Infinity Castle, the ever-changing fortress controlled by demon king Muzan Kibutsuji.

Inside the castle, Tanjiro and the Hashira are forced into brutal battles against the powerful Upper Rank demons. Every fight pushes the Demon Slayer Corps closer to their final confrontation with Muzan, raising the stakes higher than ever before.

The film combines large-scale action sequences with emotional character moments, making it one of the franchise's most ambitious chapters. Fans have particularly praised its animation, visuals and battle choreography, which further cemented Ufotable's reputation for delivering high-quality anime adaptations.
