Demon Slayer Infinity Castle OTT release date confirmed in India: When and where to watch highest-grossing Japanese anime movie? Check language versions

It's been more than year since Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba - The Movie: Infinity Castle - Part 1 took over the box office by storm worldwide. Now, the Japanese anime movie is finally gearing up for its digital release in India after heading to US and several international markets. It is one of the highest-grossing anime movies and the makers have officially announced the digital release date. Yes, you read it right.

Streaming details of Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba - Infinity Castle Part 1 in India

The wait is almost over for anime lovers. Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Infinity Castle I is all set to officially start streaming on Netflix from September 28. Besides the original language, the Japanese anime movie will also reach a wider audience with in Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu versions with English subtitles.




Directed by Haruo Sotozaki and produced by animation studio Ufotable, Infinity Castle Part 1 picks up immediately after the events of the Hashira Training Arc. Infinity Castle enjoyed thunderous success during its theatrical release. According to Variety, the film remained in theatres for 266 days, collecting around ¥40.21 billion (approximately $271 million) in Japan while selling nearly 27.4 million tickets.



According to Comscore, the film opened to around $70 million in North America, setting a new record for the biggest domestic opening for an anime movie. It surpassed the previous record held by Pokemon: The First Movie.

The film continued its strong run with a record $132.1 million opening weekend in North America, according to Comscore. Crunchyroll and Sony released the movie across North America and 49 international markets, taking its global opening weekend total to around $177.8 million.

The film initially had a digital release exclusively on Crunchyroll in the US. Its upcoming Netflix release will now make the movie available to a wider streaming audience.

The Japanese anime movie is helmed by Haruo Sotozaki and Infinity Castle Part 1 is based on the Infinity Castle arc from Koyoharu Gotouge’s popular manga series.

The story revolves around the Demon Slayer Corps as they enter the mysterious Infinity Castle for their final battle against Muzan Kibutsuji and his powerful demons. Once inside, the demon slayers are separated and forced to fight some of Muzan’s strongest followers. The movie starts the franchise's three-part cinematic finale, which will adapt the final chapters of Gotouge's manga.

Meanwhile, the story will continue with Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle Part 2. The second instalment is currently in development, but details about its release date and production have not been announced yet. Fans will have to wait for further updates from the makers. Stay tuned!
