Infinity Castle's massive box office success

The film's popularity was evident from its theatrical performance. Infinity Castle became one of the biggest anime releases of 2025 and achieved extraordinary numbers in Japan.

According to Variety, the movie remained in Japanese cinemas for 266 days and earned around ¥40.21 billion, or approximately $271 million, in the country. It sold close to 27.4 million tickets during its theatrical run.

Its success extended well beyond Japan. The movie became the highest-grossing anime film of 2025 and also set records in North America as the highest-grossing Japanese film and highest-grossing anime movie in the region. The demand was strong enough for the film to receive a limited theatrical re-release in North America.

Infinity Castle also received recognition during awards season. The movie earned nominations in the Best Motion Picture – Animated category at the Golden Globe Awards and the Producers Guild of America Awards. It was also included on the BAFTA Awards longlist for Best Animated Film.

Despite its enormous box office run, the movie did not manage to take the top spot among Japan's biggest anime films. That record continues to be held by Demon Slayer: Mugen Train.

With Infinity Castle – Part 1 now heading to Netflix in the US, fans who missed its theatrical run will soon have another chance to watch the first chapter of Tanjiro's final battle from home. Stay tuned!
