Demi Lovato shares health update after being briefly hospitalized — what happened to the pop star?

Demi Lovato has shared a health update with fans after a brief stop at the hospital. The 34-year-old pop star shared a photo to her Instagram Stories, showing an IV in her arm and a hospital bracelet around her wrist. The singer intended to have an allergic reaction checked out, but was quickly discharged.

In the since-deleted post, Lovato had written: "Soooooo i’m either allergic to passionfruit or sushi now!" She followed up with a post that read: "i’m fine!!"

Lovato's history of allergies

Back in 2009, Lovato had talked about suffering an allergic reaction on the sets of the Disney Channel show "Sonny with a Chance".

At the time, she told Just Jared Jr., "I actually had an allergic reaction the day we shot that. I had to go home early because they couldn’t just cover me up with makeup since I was red and itchy. I guess I was allergic to something in egg salad. But it was actually really funny and amusing."

Years later, Lovato opened up about being allergic to pet dander. "I'm not allergic to all animals, just cats and dogs. Sometimes I'll have a bad allergic reaction to dogs, sometimes I won't. But cats, if I am 10 feet away from them, I'll be freaking out. I'll be in the room with someone and have an allergy attack and be like, 'Do you have a cat?' and they'll say, 'Yeah, how'd you know?'" she told BuzzFeed in 2013.

However, the allergy didn't stop her from adopting a Sphynx named Hairy-Ette in 2016. "I honestly thought I wouldn’t be allergic to a hairless cat...I’m so bummed," she wrote on X (then known as Twitter) at the time. "So allergic it’s not even funny but I’m keeping her cause zero f**ks."

Lovato celebrates 'It’s Not That Deep' anniversary

Just days back, Lovato had marked the first anniversary of her ninth album "It’s Not That Deep", which was released on October 24 last year. "happy 1st birthday IT’S NOT THAT DEEP...what a year!!!" she wrote on Instagram.

"i love this album and the world we built so much. what a beautiful gift this project has been. marking potentially the best year of my life. the first year of marriage to my husband, expressing myself creatively in new ways, also just lots of dancing, laughing, and being hot with the best people. i love this album and i love you xoxo," Lovato added.
