Deloitte India's Vaishali Kasture shares tips on marathon training
A regular at the Mumbai marathon, Vaishali was forced to skip the race this year, due to an injury to her left foot.

The former managing director of Goldman Sachs India and currently a partner at Deloitte India, Kasture is a Comrades marathon runner and has previously qualified for the Boston Marathon too.
A regular at the Mumbai marathon, she was forced to skip the race this year, due to an injury to her left foot. "I did a lot of races last year and now I have this toe problem from a Comrades marathon that I did," Kasture says, while talking to ETPanache. In her opinion, it is your training that ensures an injury-free season of running. "Warm up, cool down and stretching are important factors to go injury-free. Don’t compare your mileage with someone else’s. Follow ‘hard and easy’ policy. There can’t be two successive hard days," she says. And the trick to have an injury-free season is, "undoubtedly, to give yourself enough time for recovery," she says. Which is why Kasture is giving her shoes the rest.
