In terms of design, the XPS 13 is one of the thinnest laptops around and weighs around 1.27 kg.
Get it for: Rs 1.44 lakh Key highlight: Compact form factor
The XPS series from Dell has always been synonymous with quality and the 2020 range of laptops sticks to that line. The new Dell XPS 13 is sleek, portable and packs in a lot of features.
The prices are Apple-esque — the XPS 13 starts at Rs 1.44 lakh. At this price point, you expect Dell to deliver the moon and the stars, and it doesn’t disappoint.
In terms of design, the XPS 13 is one of the thinnest laptops around and weighs around 1.27 kg. Dell has done a smart job of wasting absolutely zero space — be it around the keyboard and trackpad or the display. The key travel time is more than sufficient and the trackpad is super responsive. It is not as good as the one on the MacBook Pro but still good. The XPS 13 comes with the InfinityEdge display, which optimises 13.4-inch laptop design in an 11-inch form factor. The 4K UHD+ display is great to look at with vibrant colour reproduction. Even at 50% brightness levels, the XPS 13 produces a quality display experience.
The XPS 13 doesn’t pack too many ports — two Thunderbolt 3, a microSD and a headphone jack — which means that a dongle will be needed. Dell does ship one inside the box. The 13 is powered by Intel’s 10th-gen processor, and has up to 16GB of RAM, 512GB SSD onboard.

The specs should be sufficient for anyone not looking to do hardcore gaming or editing. It does the day-to-day tasks without breaking any sweat. The battery life on the XPS lasts about 10 hours easily on 70-80% brightness levels.
The speakers, however, do not match up the high standards the laptop otherwise sets. Located at the bottom of the laptop, they deliver just about adequate performance. You won’t be disappointed watching Netflix on it but don’t go looking for a stellar sound experience, like it is on the MacBook.
The XPS 13 will definitely appeal to those who want a portable and powerful Windows laptop. It is compact and worthy of showing off as long as you are willing to part with a lot of cash. If you are willing to do so, then go for it.

Technology trends make it clear that in a post Covid world, more content will be watched and consumed on mobile devices, be it in form of video conferencing for a meeting, an online class, or Video for entertainment. Even before the pandemic, video occupied over 70% of the content transmitted over the mobile network.
This will rise exponentially in the post Covid world and will overburden mobile networks which are not designed to handle such load. To prevent network congestion and improve user experience, the communication companies will use “Shared” spectrum.
