Dell G7 7500 review: The gaming workstation with attractive design at Rs 1.62 lakh
The audio output of the laptop is crisp, clear and fills the room at full volume.

The Dell G7 7500 gaming laptop is a top-end gaming model from the company, starting at over Rs 1 lakh. The laptop comes in a slightly heavy build, in an overall matte finish and weighs about 2.5kgs. The display is quite thin and most of the weight is taken up by the chassis. The laptop has got RGB lighting which can be switched off if you wish to conserve power. Also, without the RGB lighting, the laptop doesn’t give away itself as a gaming machine, which can be a plus or a minus depending upon how you see it as a gamer.
The laptop features a 300Hz 15.6-inch FHD display. It is securely connected to the hinge in the centre but since the hinge occupies only the upper middle side of the chassis, you have to be careful while opening and closing the display.
The 300Hz display, with the Intel Core-i7 processor, 16GB RAM and the Nvidia GeForce RTX 2060 graphics card makes for a very smooth gaming experience. We tried some action games on Ultra and High settings and the laptop could run them quite smoothly, without taking a lot of dips in the framerates. However, the heat dissipation is not that efficient and we found the keyboard and rest of the upper chassis are quite hot after about 1 hour of gameplay.
The audio output of the laptop is crisp, clear and fills the room at full volume. It served well for our gaming sessions without the headphones. You could also enjoy a track or two of Soft Rock and Instrumental music on speakers; the sound reproduction is rich and the vocals come out loud and clear.
The battery is one of the strongest features of the Dell G7 7500, along with the audio. When not gaming, the laptop averaged 3-4 hours when used for office work on MS Office and Google Suite that required very less heavy application work. When idle, the laptop battery could go on for longer.
The Dell G7 7500 has got a lot going on in its favour: solid design without any frills, great 300Hz display, good battery life and audio output. It gives a fluid gaming performance too but heating issues plague the Dell G7 7500 and the display needs to be handled carefully. All in all, a very capable gaming machine that can double up as an office laptop.
