Dunkin’ Donuts (DD) has arrived in Mumbai, and after visiting the store thrice before it launched (‘Sorry madam, not yet open’), we finally sunk our teeth into DD’s offerings. So, what’s our verdict? Read on to find out

The good:

There’s food. And a pretty decent variety of it including sandwiches, wraps, salads and burgers.

DD has as many options for vegetarians as they do for non-vegetarians. In fact, some of their veg offerings sound so good that they might even tempt the carnivorous.

The coffee. Their cappuccino is neatly priced at Rs 100 making it one of the more reasonable cuppas we’re going to find around.

Tax is included. There will be none of that re-reading the bill and feeling bamboozled by tax. What prices you see here are what you get.

The bad:

The decor. The pillars are covered with angst-ridden sayings and the walls feature busy and somewhat disturbing images of men with clocks on their heads. Why remind us of deadlines? However, if the plan is to make you eat to numb your sorrows, then well done, DD.

The names of the food. Heaven Can Wait Burger, The Wicked Wrap, Spiked Ice Tea (sans alcohol, of course) — do you really see yourself going up and ordering this at the counter with a straight face?

In their quest to stand out and target young adults, they seem to have forgotten who has the biggest sweet tooth — kids. Sadly, there is not much going on for children here

The yummy:

Donuts. With over 20 varieties, there is really something for everyone here. Our pick would have to be the Classic Glazed, Boston Creme Chocolate and the Mandarin Chocolate Orange. All are must-tries.

Munchkins. The cute bite-sized holes are available in filled and non-filled variety. With a cup of coffee, this is addictive. You have been warned.

The Tough Guy Chicken Burger is delicious.

A spicy chorizo chicken patty, slices of paprika chicken, crunchy vegetables and a secret mustard encased in a bagel.
