According to a report by The Official Humans of Bombay, Shaivya lost her grandmother a few years ago and regretted not being able to spend much time with her. So, she decided not to repeat the same mistake with her grandfather. So Shaivya would scoop time out from he busy schedule, talking with her grandfather, going on walks with him, and learning about his childhood. Shaivya even found out that his grandfather used to write poetry.One day, an idea struck Shaivya. She asked her grandfather whether he would like to go on a date with her. Although hesitant at first, he agreed and the duo went to a coffee shop. At the cafe, Shaivya’s grandfather ordered his first-ever cold coffee. He was clearly impressed by the beverage, giving his granddaughter the ‘widest smile’ just after taking the first sip. They also tried hummus and pita bread, which the grandfather loved.

After clicking pictures and taking videos with each other, Shaivya’s grandfather managed to befriend the restaurant staff as well and they gave the duo a complimentary tiramisu cake. The gesture left an impact on the elderly gentleman, who simply said, ‘Log kitne acche hai (People are so good)’. Shaivya admitted that she was delighted to watch her grandfather so excited, calling it a ‘pure and wholesome’ moment.After the coffee outing, Shaivya made a quiet promise to herself. She swore to make going out with her grandfather a tradition. Her plan is to take him out on a pottery workshop next or a poetry event.
