DU student dances to Sonam Kapoor’s hit song at Hansraj College farewell, video goes viral

A video of a girl dancing enthusiastically at her college farewell party has spread like wildfire. The girl, a student of Hansraj College, University Of Delhi, wowed netizens with her graceful moves as she danced to the song ‘O Rangrez’ from the 2013 Sonam Kapoor-Farhan Akhtar song ‘Bhaag Milkha Bhaag’.

Taking to her Instagram profile, the girl named Anupriya Sharma dropped the video and wrote, “I’ll stop dancing to this song when they make a better one. Till then..”

In the video, Anupriya looks radiant in a purple saree and white blouse. She lets her hair down as she gyrates energetically to the song. She also incorporated some elements of the classical Indian dance Kathak into her choreography.


The video went viral on Instagram, gaining more than 440K likes and 6 million views.

Netizens marvelled at Anupriya’s impeccable dance moves. “Soulful… I love it!” gushed one Instagram user. Another wrote, “I’ve never seen someone dance with SO MUCH LIFE, not sure how to put it, but this looks like freedom.” Another commented, “She is not just dancing; she's playing with dance.”

About The Song

As mentioned before, the song ‘O Rangrez’ is from the 2013 critically acclaimed movie ‘Bhaag Milkha Bhaag’. The music of the movie was composed by the versatile musical trio Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy.

Directed by Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra, ‘Bhaag Milkha Bhaag’ is a biographical drama that traces the incredible life of Milkha Singh, an Indian athlete and Olympian who was a champion of the Commonwealth Games and two-time 400m champion of the Asian Games.

Aside from Akhtar and Kapoor, the movie also boasted an illustrious ensemble cast that included names such as Divya Dutta, Pavan Malhotra, Prakash Raj etc.
