Delhi based artist's collection of breathtaking AI-generated artwork of women from various states is breaking the Internet

Madhav Kohli, the Delhi-based artist who recently hit headlines for his stunning AI-generated artwork of Indian men from various states, based on stereotypes, has now come up with an even more glorious artwork collection, this time focused on women of various states! Just like its predecessor, this collection also has portrayed women from various states - from Punjab to Assam, based on the prevailing stereotypes about their appearances.

The artist took to Twitter to share his brand-new masterpieces. He captioned the post, “ 'Indian women, made using stereotypical descriptions and ai. First, Delhi.'' Just like before, the pictures got a standing applause from the netizens, however, some felt that the pictures did not do justice to the women of their state. Just like in the case of the previous artwork, he used the tool ‘midjourney’ to create the pictures.

Some netizens were in awe of the exotic beauty of the Delhi girl and the out-and-out retro glam look of the Mumbai girl. One wrote, “Delhi women won.”


However, some were not so impressed. A few netizens called out the artists for depicting mostly Euro-centric beauty ideals in the images. “The whole list is made of stereotypes I know and it shows how people define beauty when it is actually so subjective. Small-sharp nose, triangle/oval face. Slim" definition of beauty in eyes of society, “ wrote a Twitter user.
Some users called out the artist for being biased against the states of Madhya Pradesh and Uttar Pradesh. Women from both states were depicted as elderly with weather-worn and wrinkled skin. One disgruntled user wrote, “Weirdest of all… no UP women looks like this!.” Another commented, “Demanding a bulldozer for the idiotic depiction of UP women.” Another user wrote, “What do you have against the Pradesh’s?”

Other’s called out the artist for depicting the women of Goa as being unkempt and clutching a bottle of vodka. “Even AI is contaminated by misogynistic and patriarchal data inputs,” wrote one user.
