With the Toronto van rampage driver posting a Facebook update proclaiming to be an “Incel Rebellion” shortly before the massacre, the message has brought new-found attention to the so called ‘Incel movement’. It is one of the stranger offshoots of the “alt right”.


A little background here — Incels are individuals (mostly men) who blame society for their inability to find a partner or for being ‘involuntarily celibate’.

Though shrouded in secrecy, artist Andy Warhol is said to be one of the early ‘unintentional celibates’.
