Deepak Parekh’s cricket weekend

In a piece that Deepak Parekh, chairman, HDFC Ltd penned for a general interest newspaper, ahead of Cricket World Cup 2015, he wrote, “I can endure long flights and airport delays, just to watch our cricket team play at stadiums around the world.”

Not surprisingly, Parekh is currently in Australia and spent the last weekend at the matches. Speaking over the phone from Australia, Parekh said that he went for the Pakistan versus South Africa match in Auckland on March 7 and the Australia versus Sri Lanka one in Sydney on March 8. Unfortunately, he didn’t make it for the India-West Indies game, as it was in Perth. Parekh will return to India early next week. When asked if he plans to go back for more, his quick reply is, "If India makes it to the finals." Hopefully, he’ll be in Australia before too long.
