Day after sending legal notice to Mamata Banerjee for 'The Kashmir Files' comments, Vivek Agnihotri says he's back to doing what he loves most
Director Vivek Ranjan Agnihotri has resumed his mission to create awareness among the youth about Indic Renaissance after sending a legal notice to West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee for defaming his movie 'The Kashmir Files'.

With the #IAmBuddha, the film-maker said that he has resumed his life’s mission to create awareness amongst the youth about Indic Renaissance, a movement to promote Indic tradition, culture and values.
"Good news is that it’s showing results with so many brilliant students taking our mission forward," he wrote in his caption.
On Tuesday, Agnihotri sent a legal notice to the WB CM for defaming his blockbuster movie 'The Kashmir Files', which was released in 2022. He sent the notice along with his actress-wife Pallavi Joshi and producer Abhishek Agarwal.
The director, who is currently working on his upcoming movie 'The Vaccine War', took to Twitter to share a copy of the notice.
The news came after Banerjee banned the screening of 'The Kerala Story' and criticised 'The Kashmir Files'. Directed by Sudipto Sen, 'The Kerala Story' revolves around women who are being forcefully converted and recruited by the terror group Islamic State (IS). The movie, released on May 5, has been at the centre of a political debate. While the movie was made tax-free in states like Madhya Pradesh and Uttar Pradesh, the screening of the movie in Tamil Nadu multiplexes was cancelled.
The film-maker was upset that the WB CM said it was a movie made to humiliate one section of society and are part of propaganda.
Talking to news agency ANI, Agnihotri said that Banerjee said that his films are being funded by the Modi-led ruling party. However, officials in the chief minister's office said they had no information on the legal notice.
Written by Agnihotri, 'The Kashmir Files' depicts the exodus of Kashmiri Hindus from Kashmir following members of the community being killed by terrorists. The movie featured Anupam Kher, Darshan Kumar, Mithun Chakraborty and Pallavi Joshi in the leading roles. It became one of the most commercially-successful Hindi films of 2022.
