This year has been studded with biopics, from ' MS Dhoni- The Untold Story' to ‘Neerja’. As the year at the movies comes to a close, one of the most-awaited films of the year starring Aamir Khan, ‘Dangal’ is set for release on 23rd December.

The film, a biopic on Mahavir Singh Phogat played by Aamir Khan, revolves around Mahavir's daughters Geeta Phogat and Babita Kumari. Geeta Phogat became the first female wrestler to win a gold at the 2010 Commonwealth Games. Her sister Babita Kumari won the silver in the 51 kg group.

Helmed by Nitesh Tiwari of 'Bhoothnath' fame, the movie explores Mahavir Singh Phogat’s life. A champion wrestler, Phogat is disappointed when Shobha (Mahavir's wife) gives birth to four daughters as he believes that girls cannot wrestle. However, this notion is broken when his two daughters come home after beating up two boys. This is when he realises that the dream of a gold medal can be a reality if his daughters make it big. The film follows the journey of Phogat and his daughters, as they defeat all odds.
