'Dangal' girl Zaira Wasim apologises on FB for meeting J&K CM, then deletes post

Zaira Wasim Khan, who played the role of wrestler Geeta Phogat in ' Dangal', met Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti on Saturday.

The actress was trolled for meeting the CM, as the separatist faction who do not accept Mehbooba Mufti as their Chief Minister were offended because Wasim met her.

The chief minister spoke to Zaira, a native of Jammu and Kashmir, about her education and interest in creative fields like acting, an official spokesman said.

However, soon after Wasim posted an apology on Facebook, saying, "I know that many people have been offended and displeased by my recent actions or by the people I have recently met."

She further asked people not to take her as their role model in her Facebook apology post.



The actress however took down the post and shared a new update, saying "I just wanted to make sure that I did not hurt anyone's feelings and all of a sudden it has been turned into national news. Again and again I am telling people that I have not been forced into anything by anyone," she wrote.

But she deleted this post too soon after.



Earlier, the young actor had briefed the Chief Minister about the Aamir Khan starrer film and the rigorous schedule she had to follow while performing her role.

Her parents and the Jammu & Kashmir Sports Council Secretary Waheed-ur-Rehman Parra were also present when she met Mufti.
