Dacoit OTT release details: When and where will Mrunal Thakur and Adivi Sesh's Telugu action-thriller stream after theatrical run

The upcoming Telugu action-thriller Dacoit: Oka Prema Katha has been getting attention for a while now, and finally there is some clarity around its release and streaming plans. The film, led by Adivi Sesh and Mrunal Thakur, is now set to arrive in theatres on April 10, 2026. Earlier it was supposed to come out on March 27, but the date was pushed ahead. The delay happened around the same time another big release, Dhurandhar 2, was lined up, so the makers decided to shift.

When and where to watch Dacoit on OTT

After its theatrical run, the film will stream on Amazon Prime Video. This was confirmed when the platform revealed its 2026 slate on March 19 and included Dacoit in its upcoming list. So for those who may miss it in cinemas or prefer watching at home, the film will be available online later, though the exact OTT release date has not been announced yet.

One of the talking points here is the pairing. This is the first time Adivi Sesh and Mrunal Thakur are working together, and that itself has created some curiosity among fans. At a recent event, Sesh spoke about his co-star and was quoted as “calling her the soul of the film.”


There were earlier reports that Shruti Haasan was part of the project, but she stepped away due to creative differences. After that, Mrunal Thakur came on board.

The film also features Anurag Kashyap in a key role, reportedly playing the antagonist. Supporting roles are handled by Prakash Raj and Sunil. Direction is by Shaneil Deo, marking his debut, while music is composed by Bheems Ceciroleo.

Story and what the film is about

The story is centered around a man who is “wrongfully accused of a crime and convicted.” From there things turn darker. He escapes prison and frames his former girlfriend. The narrative moves between love and revenge, showing how things change between two people over time.

The film deals with themes like betrayal, emotional conflict, and revenge, while still keeping a strong action layer. It is not just about action scenes but also about relationships breaking down and what follows after that.

There are some additional elements that have come out during promotions. The film shows Adivi Sesh in a more rugged look, which is a bit different from his earlier roles. He is also said to be using the Madanapalle dialect for authenticity.

Actor Zayn Marie Khan is also part of the film, playing a police officer. Her first look, where she appears in a fierce cop avatar, has already been shared and got attention online. Interestingly, she is the niece of Aamir Khan, who also reacted to the poster and sent his wishes to the team.
