Working from home may not be the location of choice for Bhavna Anand Sharma, CEO Cureveda, but here’s how she’s making it work.

“Honestly I don’t enjoy working from home. I am not cut out for these video calls and digital interactions. I feel I am less productive and more distracted! When I’m in my zone in office, I get a lot more done,” says Bhavna Anand Sharma.

But one thing she does like about the new WFH arrangement is her room with a view. “At work I have an open office with glass on two sides . At home I have been able to replicate the same, but with a better view - enjoying the uplifting daylight and serene greenery which I'm fortunate to have access to,” she adds. And her constants, whether at work or home is her laptop, scribble pad, a few books and of course, some healthy snacks to munch on.

Sharma says that she finds herself lucky when it comes to managing her job with work around the house because she is blessed to be staying with family. “There are a few tasks that have increased but they are manageable. I feel that I am in a much better position that many others,” she admits.

Sharma laughs and tells us that while she is currently strategizing for how to resume work, she’s keeping herself busy by exercising, focusing on her health and taking the time out to spend with her family.

“I have started with crossfit and balancing that with a fair amount of yoga - both things that I had been practising inconsistently. But in the past few weeks I've been extremely regular and I intend to continue.. I'm also investing my time in building new skills, completing online certifications which can help me at work,” Sharma says.

And this period of self isolation has taught her one important thing: Gratitude for all there is and the value of time management.

Start by identifying a ‘work base’ where your equipment and materials remain undisturbed, even if you shift locations during the day. This is essentially your workstation. Maybe you could even consider personalising it, the way your actual workstation in office is.
