Chennai Super Kings (CSK) bowler Tushar Deshpande surprised his 169K followers on Instagram when he announced his engagement on Tuesday.
Taking to social media, the 28-year-old said that he got engaged to his "school crush" Nabha Gaddamwar in an intimate ceremony in Mumbai.
In an adorable post, the cricketer said Gaddamwar was promoted from his "school crush" to his fiancée. "She (Gaddamwar) got promoted from my school crush to my fiancée," he captioned his post.
For the engagement ceremony, Deshpande opted for a white sherwani set, and his ladylove dazzled in a white silk saree with peacock green and gold zari border. The bride-to-be completed her look with temple jewellery.
The official Twitter handle of CSK also congratulated "Bhau" on his engagement.
In his post, Gaikwad said that his wife dedicated their traditional Maharashtrian engagement to one of the most important aspects of the cricketer's life - the people of Chennai. Hence, the groomsmen could be seen wearing a white veshti with their shirts and a matching stole.
In his caption, the cricketer wrote, "Utkarsha being part of my life and my journey right from the start knew exactly about the important aspects of my life. She decided to dedicate the entire traditional Maharashtrian engagement to the Chennai people and the South culture because of the importance of that city and what the Chennai Super Kings have done for my life! Indeed it turned out to be really really special! I love you, Utkarsha."
Gaikwad had also shared pictures of his intimate wedding with Pawar on Instagram. His caption read, "From the pitch to the altar, our journey begins!"
