Murali Vijay is hooked to Slacklining - and can't get enough of it!
He sends balls flying over the stadium and rides a mean wave on the surf board, but batsman Murali Vijay, it seems, can't get enough of sports. The latest sport that he's hooked to is Slacklining.

Slack-lining involves walking or balancing along a suspended length of flat webbing that is tensioned between two anchors and Vijay is certainly not slacking in it and trains for it almost daily.

"I've been trying it out recently and it is brilliant. It requires great mental fitness and meditation," Vijay says.

Just like cricket and surfing, the opening batsman has picked up some life lessons from his newest fixation too.

He says, "It teaches you to focus, meditate and balance your entire body with your mind. That I think is great exercise to excel in anything you do in life."

"If there was one trophy which I would like to keep, it would be a tough choice. I would not be able to choose between my 2011 World Championship bronze medal and my Commonwealth Games 2010 gold medal. These are probably what would be all the way on top."

"As an athlete, it was always my greatest honour to represent the flag. So the Arjuna Award, which is a recognition from the country of my contribution to India through sport is like a summation of all the other medals and awards I have won over my swimming career which spanned close to 18 years. I would choose that as it represents my journey."

"As a unit, I really would want to cherish our series victory in Australia back in 2013. But if I need to recall one personal feat, I would like to keep the Golden Bat I won at the Champions League T20 in 2010. It was a brilliant season for me as the team, Chennai Super Kings, went on to win the IPL and Champions League T20 on the trot."
