Rishad Premji and Anand Mahindra have great ideas to keep Covid at bay.
Maharashtra, Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Karnataka, Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat and Rajasthan are amongst the ten states that have shown a steep rise in the daily Covid cases, accounting for 83.02 per cent of the new infections, according to the Union Health Ministry.

India's daily cases continue to rise and 1,68,912 fresh coronavirus infections were registered in a span of 24 hours, the highest single-day rise since the outbreak of the pandemic.

Wipro Chairman Rishad Premji shared a fresh perspective on what is causing the spike in the coronavirus cases. He emphasised on Twitter that Covid doesn't spread from ‘other’ people, instead people get infected via 'trusted people'.

Agreeing to Premji's logic, RPG Group Chairman Harsh Goenka also retweeted the former Nasscom Chairman's post on Twitter.

Tech entrepreneur and PuneTech co-founder Amit Paranjape also lauded Premji for descibing the situation in as may words. He mentioned, "Can't understand why people wear masks with strangers, but remove them when meeting friends/colleagues/relatives!"

During the weekend, Anand Mahindra, Chairman of Mahindra Group, took to the micro-blogging platform to share his views about the rise in Covid cases in Mumbai.

Talking to his 8.4 million followers, the 65-year-old auto boss stressed that a majority of the city's Covid cases are from more affluent classes, which is pushing many to not go to jumbo centers and general wards that's leading to the bed shortage perception. "We have to save lives, quickly add care-infrastructure & provide choice to those who can afford it", he wrote.

In his second part of the tweet, Mahindra said that this is the right time to allow hospitals to add Covid ICU beds urgently, without reducing beds currently committed for the virus treatment - "outside of the 80:20 formula". "This potentially addresses a problem faced by Mumbai’s middle class but also saves BMC money for those more in need", his caption read.

Last week, Snapdeal founder Kunal Bahl raised alarm about how so many people are contracting the infection even after getting first or second doses of the vaccine. He further said that these cases, however, have mild and highly-manageable symptoms.

Hoping for a world when Covid becomes a benign cold, the Delhi-based investor, in another Twitter post, said that people will likely get Covid at some point. He also mentioned the positive and said that "we may all go about (living) our lives like before" if nearly everyone is vaccinated.
