Coolie OTT release update: Where you can stream Rajinikanth's action thriller

Fans of superstar Rajinikanth have something thrilling to look forward to. According to a report by Pinkvilla, the much-awaited Tamil action entertainer Coolie is reportedly gearing up for a majestic release on Amazon Prime Video. Though whispers about this digital debut are gaining momentum, the production team has not yet issued a formal confirmation.

Based on details listed on the film-centric platform Letterboxd, Coolie unfolds around a compelling tale of a former rebel. Rajinikanth plays Deva, a man who once held a prominent position within a violent extremist group. Years after leaving behind his past, Deva devises a clever plan involving vintage golden wristwatches to reassemble his former comrades. But his attempt at rebuilding what was lost unexpectedly spins out of control. Rather than returning to its original shape, the gang’s resurgence takes on a dynamic and unfamiliar form, setting off unforeseen consequences.

The multilingual film is all set to make its theatrical debut on August 14 and promises to be a massive pan-India spectacle. Apart from Rajinikanth in the lead, the cast boasts a star-studded lineup that includes Sathyaraj, Nagarjuna Akkineni, Soubin Bashir, Upendra, and Shruti Haasan in prominent roles. Bollywood icon Aamir Khan will also be seen in a surprise guest appearance, adding to the film’s already high-profile ensemble.


The soundtrack is being composed by the sensational Anirudh Ravichander, who has consistently delivered hit albums in recent years. Fans can expect the music of Coolie to drop in early August, as the grand audio launch has been planned for the first week of the month. This event is expected to be a lavish affair with performances and promotions ramping up the excitement.

Meanwhile, the film’s director, Lokesh Kanagaraj, previously helmed the action-packed thriller Leo, starring Vijay.
