Comio C2 review: Excellent battery life and anti-theft features
The phone silently captures photos with the front camera if anyone tries to access your phone with a wrong unlock code.

Price: Rs 7,199
Rating: ***1/2
Specifications: 5-inch IPS (1280 x 720 pixels), quad core MTK6737, 2GB RAM, 16GB storage, dual SIM, microSD slot, 4G, VoLTE, 8MP rear + 8MP front camera with flash, 4,000mAh battery, Android 7.0, 165 grams
Pros: Stylish design, bright screen, good front camera, excellent battery life, useful anti-theft features
Cons: Heavy and bulky, average quality rear camera, no fast charge support, loaded with bloatware
Instead of smooth polycarbonate plastic, the C2 has a stylish, textured finish. The camera, buttons and charging port have a metal finish in a contrasting colour. Up front is a 5-inch display with a resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels. We liked the rich colours, viewing angles and brightness level of the screen. Under the screen are touch sensitive home, back and recent keys which work well but are not backlit. Since it has a large 4,000mAh battery, the phone feels heavy for its size and has a fat design.
Specifications are at par with what you see at this price segment. It has a quad core processor, 2GB RAM, 16GB storage (11GB available for use) — this is adequate for basic use but not for gaming. Even with 2GB RAM, we did not see any sluggishness in the phone with over 20 apps running – impressive. The 4,000mAh battery easily lasted close to 2 days which is excellent but it takes between 4 to 5 hours to fully charge.
The C2 has an 8MP rear camera and offers basic shooting modes including Auto, HDR, panorama and beauty. Images in daylight are good in quality but indoors there is visible noise and lack of details. In low light, the noise is visible in viewfinder itself so it’s best left unused in low light. The front 8MP camera has a wide-angle lens and offers much better results than the rear camera. Indoor images capture a good amount of details and even low light images are good enough to view on the phone when taken using the front flash. On the software front, the phone comes with Android 7.0 but has a few handy features pre-installed.
Overall, the Comio C2 is a much better offering than the C1. However, it faces stiff competition from the Redmi 4 which offers similar specifications with a fingerprint scanner and metal body at Rs 6,999.
