Coldplay fan who missed 2016 concert due to financial struggles receives heartwarming surprise for 2025 show

Coldplay's recent series of concerts in India have captivated fans nationwide, with their electrifying performances and unforgettable moments. Among the countless attendees, one fan's journey to experience the magic of Coldplay stood out for its heartfelt resonance.

Instagram influencer Probby, a devoted fan, shared his emotional story of finally witnessing Coldplay live at their Mumbai concert with Humans of Bombay. In a social media post accompanied by a video, he revealed how his journey with the band began years ago and how he overcame challenges to be part of the iconic event.

A Long-Standing Connection

"I was around 18 when I heard Coldplay for the first time," Probby recalled in his post. "My friend used to sing ‘Yellow’ all the time. That’s probably how I got hooked to the band." He described how Coldplay's music became a constant in his life, offering solace during heartbreaks and joy at karaoke parties.


However, when Coldplay first visited India in 2016, Probby couldn't attend despite winning tickets. Financial constraints prevented him from traveling from Goa to Mumbai. This time, the stars aligned differently.

The Struggle for Tickets

Like thousands of fans, Probby initially failed to secure tickets when they went on sale last year. "My friend Ashi and I both had multiple systems on... but you know how it was!" he shared. Tickets sold out almost instantly, leaving many fans disheartened.

But luck took a turn when a follower of their social media page offered tickets at MRP. Probby's friend Ashi recounted the moment: "He kept asking, ‘Yeh real hai?’ Honestly, even I was skeptical at first. The seller said, ‘Take the tickets, enjoy the concert, and pay me later.’ I didn’t have much to lose, so I agreed!"


Probby's disbelief only faded when he walked through the stadium gates. "It was honestly the best moment of my life," he said. The concert exceeded all his expectations, with the lights, sounds, and energy of the crowd creating an unforgettable atmosphere. "I went in just to sing my heart out to ‘Hymn for the Weekend,’ but what I got was so much more!"

He described the evening as surreal, with fireworks, balloons, and the iconic light-up bracelets that danced to the band's tunes. The highlight was seeing Coldplay's lead vocalist Chris Martin up close.

Upcoming Concerts and Live Streaming

Coldplay’s Mumbai concerts were filled with moments that left fans in awe. On the first night, Chris Martin surprised the audience by reading placards held by fans and even saying "Jai Shri Ram" after spotting it on a sign. The gesture, accompanied by Martin asking about its meaning, was met with thunderous cheers.

The overwhelming demand for Coldplay’s India performances led to the addition of four more shows after an initially planned single concert. Fans who couldn’t attend in person still have a chance to experience the magic, as the upcoming Ahmedabad concerts on January 25 and 26 will be streamed live on Disney+ Hotstar.
