Uday Kotak is expected to share his thoughts on the economy.
Every year, come August, there is the much-awaited Lalit Doshi Memorial lecture, which gives the audience the opportunity to hear from a leading name in business or government. And this year will be no exception, as Uday Kotak takes the mic on August 5.

The Kotak Mahindra Bank chairman is expected to share his thoughts on the economy. Considering the lecture is scheduled to take place exactly a month since the government’s first post-election Budget was presented, attendees can hope to glean some insights about the macro picture as well.

Some prominent guests have addressed the annual lecture, which was named after a former IAS officer. Last year’s lecture was delivered by S Jaishankar, who has since been appointed Union Minister for External Af fairs. Vinod Rai (former comptroller and auditor general of India), Raghuram Rajan (former Reserve Bank of India governor), Arun Jaitley (former union finance minister), Deepak Parekh (chairman, HDFC Ltd), Ajit Doval (National Security Advisor) and former top cop Julio Ribeiro have all been speakers in the past.
