Cinematic wallpaper & new media controls: Next-gen Android 13 platform likely to offer exciting features

Here’s a happy piece of news for Android users. After Android 12 got a major face lift with a lot of additional features, a report claims that the next-gen Android platform may be next to get some sprucing. Apparently, it will soon have the wallpaper effect, get new media controls and also a foreground manager.

According to a report in GSMArena, Android 13 users will now be able to apply effects to their wallpapers. This feature, also known as ‘Cinematic Wallpaper' will be available in the developer preview. Apart from this, the media output picker has also been revamped to accommodate an option to pair a new device right from this menu.

“The Foreground Services task manager will sit at the bottom of the quick settings and notification panel and display currently-running apps in the foreground. The next gen Android 13 platform will allow apps to transfer media to nearby devices with a tap,” said an IANS report.


An interesting feature that will be added to Android 13 will allow devices (running on Android 13) to transfer media to nearby speakers or other devices by simply being near them. Needless to say that Android 13 platform will also switch up audio streaming through Bluetooth, and make it more smooth and advanced.

Android 13 will also incorporate stronger controls for the apps running in the background. We all forget apps we download but never use and they eat our battery life. However, Android 13 will alert users about such apps and either ask them to remove such apps or disable them.
