Cindy Crawford and Rande Gerber step out after son Presley’s death: What happened to the 27-year-old model?

Cindy Crawford and her husband, Rande Gerber, were recently spotted together in Malibu, California, in public place weeks after the death of their son, Presley Gerber. The couple kept a low profile as they made a grocery run. Presley, a model, died at the age of 27. According to Hola, the couple left a supermarket together. Gerber carried a brown paper shopping bag, while Crawford wore an olive-green shirt, flared jeans and sunglasses. They were spotted more than one and a half months after their son’s death.

Crawford shared a black-and-white photograph of Presley on Instagram, along with a message from the family. The statement described their grief and thanked people who had offered support.

“We are beyond heartbroken to lose our beloved son and brother,” the family wrote. They also described Presley as a “sweet, beautiful soul” and said they felt blessed to have had him in their lives for 27 years. The message was signed by Mom, Dad and Kaia.

Their daughter, model Kaia Gerber, also shared a separate tribute to her brother.

On September 20, 2026, Presley Gerber passed away at a rehabilitation facility in Santa Monica, California. His death was investigated as a suspected overdose as per AP. But the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner had not confirmed an official cause of death.

Who was Presley Gerber?

Presley was a model and the older brother of Kaia Gerber. According to the Associated Press, he began his modeling career as a teenager and made his runway debut for Moschino at 16. He later worked with modeling agencies IMG and DNA Models.

He also appeared alongside Kaia in a Calvin Klein campaign in 2018. Presley spoke publicly about his mental health and substance-use struggles. In a 2023 interview with the Studio 22 podcast, he said he hoped his experiences could help others who faced similar difficulties, The Los Angeles Times reported.

“Whether I help one person or a hundred people get out of that place,” he said, referring to his own struggles with depression and mental health. He added that he wanted to help others who faced similar challenges and stressed that “there's no judgment,” as per E! News report.
