Be it creating history by recognising talents across races, or honouring creativity beyond geographical boundaries, the Academy Awards are known to make headlines each year.
Red carpet outfits, moving speeches, followed by memes are customary. However, the 94th Academy Awards seemed outlandish with the unsavoury slapping incident. The tussle between Will Smith and Chris Rock led to an ocean of memes on social media.
Dairy brand Amul, known for its ingenious topicals on pop culture, shared a poster on the infamous slapping incident at the Academy Awards. The quirky doodle from the brand showed caricatures of Will Smith and Chris Rock in the heated moment. ‘Chris Rocked by slap!’ and ‘Snack. Don’t Smack!’ were the captions used by Amul for its latest topical.
