Chris Hemsworth is a proud dad. The Thor actor, who got married to Spanish actress-model Elsa Pataky in December 2010, welcomed daughter India Rose in 2012, and twin sons, Sasha and Tristan, in 2014. Chris often shares delightful glimpses of his family life on Instagram and this time was no different. In his latest post, the Marvel star cheered for his daughter after she won an all-boys bull-riding competition.

Chris Hemsworth’s daughter wins bull-riding

The post featured 2 videos, with the first one showcasing India hanging onto a bull as it bucked around a dirt arena. The second clip featured an emotional father-daughter moment as Chris hugged his 14-year-old, happy for her bagging the trophy and calling the teen a ‘champion bull rider’.

Chris also asked her daughter how she was feeling before wanting to know how long she could hold onto the bull. When Chris suggested she try 7 seconds, India was quick to chime in, stating that she can actually keep her balance on the bull for 8 seconds. Just wanna say my daughter is a savage. Only girl in the comp and took home the win. Proud moment,’ read Chris’ caption.

Chris Hemsworth on naming his daughter India

Previously, Chris Hemsworth opened up about why her daughter was named India. Back in 2018, the Hollywood star shot for his Netflix film Extraction in India. During a conversation with news agency IANS, Chris revealed that his wife Elsa spent a considerable amount of time in the country ‘and that was where the name originally came from’. Apart from that, Chris also praised India, calling the experience both ‘intimidating’ and ‘exciting’.

Chris revealed that India holds a special place in his heart, especially because of the people. ‘There were thousands of people on the streets every day and I have never experienced that on set. It was sort of intimidating as it was exciting because there were so many people,’ noted the actor.

Chris now lives in Australia, where he and his wife are focused on giving their children a relatively grounded upbringing away from the Hollywood limelight.
