Chet Hanks confronts Eric André at ComplexCon years after their public feud: Here’s what happened

Chet Hanks and Eric André crossed paths again at ComplexCon in Los Angeles over the weekend. According to an Instagram video shared by Hanks, Hanks was approaching André from behind and grabbing him by the shoulder. In the video, Andre was initially happy to see Hanks. The situation changed when Hanks began confronting him. André appeared confused during the exchange. After that, his security team stepped in and he walked away. Their dispute dates back to 2023, when the two clashed over Hanks’ appearance on The Eric André Show.

What did Chet Hanks say about the confrontation?

In his post, Hanks claimed that André had no memory of their previous public dispute. Hanks wrote in the caption that André had “NO MEMORY WHATSOEVER” of their earlier dispute. Hanks also said André told him he had a problem with him “mocking Caribbean culture” when he used a Jamaican accent years ago. Hanks called the encounter “Great running into you Eric.”

What happened between Chet Hanks and Eric André before?

The two had a public dispute several years ago after Hanks appeared on The Eric André Show. According to Just Jared's earlier report from March 2023, André later described Hanks' behavior on the show as “dangerous” and “emotionally disturbed.”

Hanks responded to André on Instagram at the time. He criticized the comedian over his comments. The earlier disagreement appears to be the reason Hanks brought up their history during the recent encounter.
