Chelsea's great find - Eden Hazard

Chelsea has clinched the Premier League title and much of their thrust has been provided by the 24-year-old Belgian Eden Hazard. With 14 goals so far this season including the one against Crystal Palace that sealed the title for the club, Hazard is the name on the lips of the faithful at Stamford Bridge. He deservedly bagged the PFA Players' Player of the Year Award and later was also voted the Football Writers' Association Player of the Year.

It is difficult to rank Hazard's goals in different competitions for the Blues, but there is widespread agreement that these were three of his better ones:

Hazard’s first of the season was helped by some sloppy goalkeeping by Kasper Schmeichel. But he displayed smart footwork to cut into the box from his left and rifle a low ranger into goal.


v/s Maribor, Champions League, Stamford Bridge (Chelsea 6 Maribor 0)

Hazard contributed two goals, one a penalty and another late one showcasing some brilliant dribbling skills to sink Maribor. Hazard was one of Chelsea’s few saving graces in the competition, though even he couldn’t stop their exit.

After being well established as one of the finest penalty scorers currently playing, Hazard here found the net with his head after his initial penalty was saved. The only goal of the game clinched the title for the Blues.
