Chef Rohit Ghai gets his third Michelin star at Jamavar-London
With three stars to his name, one often wonders about the pressures of meeting expectations.

"I was having breakfast at home when I received a call inviting me to the award ceremony. I was not sure whether an invite had been extended to attend as a member of the audience or an awardee," Ghai said with a laugh. But things were soon cleared up and Ghai was thrilled when he heard the news, saying, "It is a very humbling experience to present Indian cuisine at par with the finest in the world. Of course, it makes me want to work harder and strive to maintain my star."
But, are the subsequent stars as alluring as the first? "Always. Given how prestigious and influential a Michelin star is , I like to treat every night as if it's the night of a Michelin inspection." And now, with three stars to his name, one often wonders about the pressures of meeting expectations. But Chef Ghai says it's part and parcel of the achievement. "It pushes me and my team to excel and do the very best we can."
