Chef Hemant Oberoi may have hung up his apron, but he has not had enough of the food industry

Chef Hemant Oberoi ,once synonymous with the Taj Mahal Hotel, may have hung up his apron as its corporate chef, but he has not had enough of the food industry. Buzz is that Oberoi is in talks to start his own restaurant in Mumbai. If it goes to plan, the opening may happen by 2016-end.

The celebrated chef is being tight-lipped about his new venture at this point but our sources indicate that he’s on the hunt for a property somewhere between Worli and Bandra. Word is that his venture will definitely not serve Indian cuisine. Considering that Oberoi has been gushing about Peruvian food recently, perhaps that’s the highlight of the new restaurant.
