Organised by the Piramal Gallery, NCPA, the three-day event has been organised by the Chaplin India Forum and the Spices Board of India.

MUMBAI: Cartoons and caricatures featuring Charlie Chaplin by 200 globally acclaimed cartoonists opens in a show at the National Centre for the Performing Arts (NCPA) here on June 25.

Organised by the Piramal Gallery, NCPA, the three-day event has been organised by the Chaplin India Forum and the Spices Board of India.

The works have been compiled by noted cartoonist Sudheer Nath for the event, which commemorates the 125th birth anniversary of the legendary filmmaker Charlie Chaplin.

A book titled "Chaplin Lines" containing select cartoons and caricatures is also set to be released.

"We are committed to celebrate this because it has been a hundred years since Charlie Chaplin, artist nonpareil, appeared on the silver screen mesmerising audiences across the globe," R Sarath, film director and Chairman of Chaplin India Forum said in a statement.

A Malayalam film titled "Buddha and Chaplin Smile" is also set to be screened at the Eros mini theatre here in homage of the actor, Sarath said.

Meanwhile the Spices Board, a key sponsor of the event is mounting an exhibition to popularise the presence and use of 52 Indian spices and showcase their value-added products.
