A chargesheet has been filed against Kannada actor Darshan. The chargesheet, which has been filed by the Bengaluru police, has implicated 17 people in the murder of pharmaceutical executive Renuka Swamy. This also includes the ‘Majestic’ actor. The chargesheet reportedly includes 230 shreds of evidence, including eyewitnesses. Darshan Thoogudeepa was taken into custody on June 11 for his suspected role in the murder of 33-year-old Renukaswamy.

The victim, a fan of Darshan, had allegedly sent explicit pictures to Pavithra Gowda, Darshan's co-star and alleged girlfriend, who has also been arrested in connection with the incident. As per reports, Renukaswamy was an ardent fan of the actor and blamed Gowda for driving a wedge between the actor and his wife.

What Does The Evidence Include?

In the chargesheet filed in court today, the police presented over 200 pieces of circumstantial evidence, including forensic reports indicating bloodstains on the clothing of Darshan and other accused individuals.

The evidence also includes a photograph from the crime scene showing Renukaswamy pleading with the accused to stop beating him, CCTV footage capturing Darshan, and bloodstains on actor Pavithra Gowda's footwear, which she allegedly used to assault Renukaswamy. Additionally, the footage shows Darshan leaving a pub, traveling to a shed in the Rajarajeshwari Nagar area, and returning to the pub after attacking Renukaswamy. In the interim, Darshan reportedly went to his residence to change clothes, and the police have also gathered footage supporting this sequence of events, according to sources.

Renukaswamy's postmortem report revealed that he was brutally beaten and subjected to electric shocks. His body bore multiple bruises, a missing ear, and ruptured testicles.

The police have also collected statements from four individuals who were persuaded by Darshan and his group to surrender to the authorities, falsely claiming responsibility for Renukaswamy's murder. According to the police, these individuals were enticed with promises of money and protection from Darshan.
