Chandrakanth Challa suicide: Pavithra Jayaram’s husband had another wife & two kids!

Barely days after the suicide of Telugu TV star Chandrakanth Challa, his former wife Shilpa dropped a bombshell. In an interview with the YouTube channel Sakshi TV, Shilpa claimed that she was a victim of domestic abuse and that the ‘Trinayani’ star distanced himself from her as soon as he met actress Pavithra Jayaram, who passed away from a motor accident on May 12. Three days after Jayaram's demise, Challa was found dead in his Telangana home.

Shilpa claimed that she got married to Challa in 2015 after a relationship of 11 years and had two kids. However soon after Challa met Jayaram, he distanced himself from his family. His behaviour also turned abusive. "I have never told anybody about the domestic abuse that I was subjected to, especially during the lockdown period. Ours was an 11-year-long relationship that turned into marriage. At first, he was all nice and caring. When he entered the industry, he mentioned me to his colleagues and told them that I had settled his life…" she told the channel.



She also added that the late actor’s attitude towards her and the kids changed after he met Jayaram on the sets of ‘Trinayani’. He often gaslighted her into believing that he and Jayaram were travelling together for an outdoor shoot whereas they were going on romantic vacations to Ooty. The couple often shared their photos on Instagram and this caused her mental anguish.

“After meeting Pavithra Jayaram, things completely changed. He started beating me ever since I came to know of their affair. Chandu had told me that he and Pavithra Jayaram are going to Bengaluru for shooting but they went on a holiday to Ooty. They made so many reels and posted them on social media handles. It was all a torture to me…” she admitted.

She revealed that Chandrakanth had visited their home after Jayaram’s death, but avoided her religiously. He also turned down her request for a reconciliation for the sake of their kids. “ Even after Pavitra’s death, he came to our house but hasn’t spoken to me, as we have not been on talking terms for the last 4 years. For the sake of our children, I asked him to stay with us leaving Pavitra’s death aside, but he has cheated my kids forever now by killing himself” she lamented.

Shilpa also alleged that Jayaram had often threatened her over the phone. Challa often neglected his kids to look after Jayaram’s children (Jayaram was earlier married to another person). “He told me that Pavithra had holes in her heart and that he had to take care of her. He stopped talking to me, coming to the house, and even never signed our children's school forms. But, he signed in the father's column for Pavithra Jayaram's two children…” she revealed.

Shilpa also alleged that Jayaram prevented Challa from visiting her and the kids.

“She married him and now she killed him. They both mentioned that they got married and ignored our family. She took away our son from us first and now he committed suicide leaving us in deep sorrow..” she said.

Challa and Jayaram had been staying together in Telangana for the past five years. Although they never confirmed it, they were speculated to have tied the knot.
