It’s not every day that Wimbledon champion Andy Murray puts on an apron to field his serve. At the recently-held Dubai Food Festival, the British number one was seen dishing out a special Indian curry under the watchful eye of Chef Sanjeev Kapoor. That’s not all, the curry was named — you guessed it — Murray Curry. Kapoor tells us, "We created a special Murray Curry for the event which was a homestyle yellow chicken curry. It had turmeric, cumin, lots of coriander and cashew nuts."

The curry’s namesake did a good job keeping up with the chef. "He’s familiar with the kitchen, but let’s just say that he’s as good at cooking as I am at tennis," jokes Sanjeev. Enjoying a bit of curry (Andy handled the spice well), Sanjeev also talked about his family and his 18-yearold daughter’s sports aspirations. "The event was a lot of fun, but it also helped me pick out a school for my daughter that would help hone her skills." It’s like two strikes with one ball.
