Celebs who became fashion photographer Ram Shergill's muses

For British-born Indian fashion photographer Ram Shergill, his ongoing exhibition Kaleidoscope, organised by Tasveer in partnership with Vacheron Constantin, at Saffronart in Prabhadevi, is a homecoming of sorts. "I honestly feel like I'm reconnecting with my roots with this showing and it's a great feeling to have," he says.

Ram will be showing a handful of his famed pictures and he named this collection Kaleidoscope as a tribute to the drama and colourfulness associated with all things Indian. Kaleidoscope will also be touring Tasveer's partner galleries in Delhi, Bangalore, Kolkata, and Ahmedabad following Mumbai in 2014-2015.

Amy came to my studio before she became a huge star. She looked in the mirror and did the wing tip eyeliner to match the retro mood in the studio and soon it became her thing of sorts. She used to always call me Raj and say, "But you look like Raj".

For this shoot, I told her, "Dame, you've won an Oscar, you're a star", and she came up with expressions to match. Then I said, "Now you've murdered your husband!" It's a tough transition to make, but within a fraction of a second, she turned from this happy ecstatic woman to give me an amazing villainous expression.

This picture, part of Abu Jani-Sandeep Khosla's India Fantastique, was shot in London. I was telling Shweta 'You're dying. You're a flower that's wilting away'. She just closed her eyes and I got my beautiful picture. I burst into tears when I got this shot.

I got her lovely Jamaican food, then I taught her to do bhangra dancing during our shoot. We didn't have to take too many pictures as she gave me numerous shots in less time.
