Celebrity chef Jamie Oliver and MasterChef Australia contestant Sarah Todd set to unveil their restaurants in India

Celebrity chef Jamie Oliver is set to open two restaurants — Jamie’s Italian (at Vasant Kunj) and Jamie’s Pizzeria (at Gurgaon) — in the capital before the end of the year. “We will be serving some beautiful, simple, great-value Italian food, made with the very best-quality ingredients we can get our hands on,” Oliver said. While we can’t wait for Oliver’s dig, a popular South Mumbai restaurant, The Table, got into a soup last week when a fire in the kitchen forced the restaurant to shut their doors temporarily.

A representative informed us that they’re using this down time to tweak the interiors. It is scheduled to reopen in the second week of September, just in time to welcome their new neighbours Le Mill. If you are looking for interesting nosh before that, Sarah Todd, MasterChef Australia 2014 contestant, will whip up some at the seventh Fashion’s Night Out on September 2 at a South Mumbai mall. The model -turned-chef is going to follow this gig up with a restaurant, in collaboration with Ashish Kapur of Moods Hospitality, in Goa later this year. The menu is said to be modern Australian cuisine with an Asian influence.
