In a chat with Vogue, the 'Blonde' star opened up on her beauty tips.
Hollywood starlet Ana De Armas recently opened up on her beauty secrets. In an interview with Vogue magazine, the Blonde actress shared some beauty and lifestyle tips. The Virgin Rose star revealed that she was not a morning person, and she wakes up with her puppies and spends a lot of time in the bathroom and enjoys her cups of coffee. She insinuated that beauty is not something that occurs with no effort, and it’s a time-consuming, gruelling process involving a lot of effort and rituals.

The actress explained her rather pragmatic approach to beauty. She said she often carried with her under-eye patches or masks. She also revealed she often brushed her face with rose quartz tool as well as serums and oils

She also recalled the one beauty tip she received from her costume designer when she was 16 – to sleep without her pillow so she did not develop wrinkles on her neck. She admitted that now she understands the wisdom behind this suggestion, but at that time, she found the advice very strange.

"I’ve been told many things but I remember when I was doing my first movie in Cuba. I was 16 years old and the costume designer told me to sleep without a pillow so I wouldn’t get wrinkles on my neck. I didn’t understand what [he was] saying. Now I do, but at the time I thought that sounded really strange..." she said.

She also stated that she didn’t wear much makeup, but she still relied on mascara and blusher when she had to.

When asked about her radiant skin, the actress stated that she believed in having a good night’s sleep and applying sunscreen daily.

Why Do Sleep Wrinkles Happen?

According to an article published on Therapeutic Pillows, because of the continuous pressure and friction against your pillowcase as you sleep, your skin is more susceptible to wrinkles. Over time, this friction can cause wrinkles and fine lines, particularly in sensitive places like your face and neck.

According to an article published on Medical News Today, pillows can compress your skin if you sleep on your side or on your belly. Sleep wrinkles and other outward symptoms of ageing can result from this over time. In an article published on Aesthetic Surgery Journal in Oxford Academic, wrinkles occur when fault lines develope on face and neck. These lines may develope due to skin distortion from mechanical compression during sleep. When sleeping laterally or prone, the face is subject to compression, shear, and stress forces.

Tips To Avoid Wrinkles

Sleep on your back, instead of your side or stomach. This position reduces pressure on your face and neck.

Opt for a silk and satin pillowcase; these cause less friction to your skin.

Nourish your skin with a hydrating moisturiser before bed. It can reduce the appearance of wrinkles.
