Elvis Presley was known for his extravagant pompadour and a strand of it was sold for $1,15,000, which was more than the combined hair power of John Lennon ($48,000), John F Kennedy ($3,000) and Beethoven ($7,300). Che Guevara’s hair, along with fingerprints and death photographs, were sold for $1,19,500.

During US president Ronald Reagan’s stay in hospital after a 1981 assassination attempt, a hospital worker took a vial of his blood as a souvenir. The vial was later put up for auction where bidding shot up to over $10,000.

The auction was, however, cancelled at the last minute and the blood was donated to the Ronald Reagan Presidential Foundation.



Jack Nicholson’s teeth were sold in a private auction in 2001, and while the final price is unknown, bids were said to have surpassed $5,000.



The sheer level of Marilyn Monroe’s fame came to light when a set of three chest x-rays, taken at a Florida hospital in 1954, was sold for $45,000.
