Celebrating with charity: Edelweiss marked their 21st anniversary by raising money for charity

Celebrations for significant milestones are carried out with either a lavish party or charitable gestures.

Mumbai-based financial services company Edelweiss chose the latter.

While mandatory CSR has made companies allot funds for charitable activities, this company took it up a notch.

To mark their 21st anniversary, the group launched an initiative to raise money for charity — Rs.21 million at that.

While the firm raised Rs.50 lakh internally, the rest came via contributions from their 300-odd clients and friends.

The money will be directed to EdelGive Foundation, the company’s philanthropic arm, headed by Shah’s wife, Vidya.
