Celebrating Trump's inauguration in Mumbai
Much pomp and pageantry marks the incoming of a new US President. Celebrations abound not just in Washington DC and different parts of US, but also at the country’s many outposts around the world. In line with tradition, the US Consulate in Mumbai hosted a formal inaugural ball.

If there were any apprehensions or misgivings about the new President, they were drowned out in the frenetic beats of the Bollywood numbers that dancer-choreographer Shiamak Davar was belting out. The mood was upbeat and the guests in high spirits, as Davar invited everyone up on the stage to shake a leg.

The host for the evening Thomas Vajda and his wife Amy Sebes joined their guests as they put on some black sunnies and followed Davar’s instructions to perform the hook steps for ‘kaala chashma’. Those in DC, bundled up in their layers, would have gladly swapped their party for this.
