Biking enthusiasts encounter a truck-load of issues on Indian roads daily, from rough terrains, steep cliffs, and bumpy roads to hairpin bends and crazy traffic. But their indefatigable spirit and passion for conquering the trails keep them going regardless of all the risks life throws at them. One brand that has always rooted for such relentless bikers who are determined to outride everything despite all uncertainties is Shell Advance. The brand not only caters to motor enthusiasts by developing products that resolve their pertinent problems en route but also keeps collaborating with passionate bikers and motor-heads to encourage, reward and acknowledge their spirit.
This time, once again, with the intention of empowering bikers to relentlessly pursue their passion for biking, overcoming the challenges of hiking fuel prices and uncertain trails, Shell launched the Shell Advance Outriders Trail in partnership with Times of India. The initiative invited the participants to share their take on what makes them an outrider and win a fully sponsored, exhilarating bike-riding opportunity with the country’s celebrated biking influencers, Bikers for Good, Gowtaman and Story on Wheels. The three influencers were roped in to lead the trail and pick the winners of the contests as their co-riders on the basis of their riveting outrider stories. The winners were announced during a virtual event that also witnessed the launch of the latest product from the giant Shell Advance Fuel Save.
During their trail, the bikers had first-hand experience of Shell Advance Fuel Save, which is expertly engineered to give extra mileage of 5 km/litre of fuel. The riders noticed that they were able to save more on the ride, which was a big thumbs up amidst rising fuel costs. They also vouched for the product in improving the performance and dependability of their bikes, which contributed to making all three trails a huge success.
Let’s take a look at the biking experiences of the three teams.
Popular biker and influencer Mohit Ahuja (Bikers for Good) declared Neeraj, the winner of the Shell Advance Outriders Contest. They rode together from Delhi to Spiti via the world’s highest village Komic.
When asked about his association with Shell, Mohit said, “I've been associated with Shell for almost 6 years. The initial initiatives that I did with Shell included The Shell Ducati Rider’s Day, and the most special one being MotoGP live, which gave me, along with one more person from India, a chance to meet the MotoGP racers like Danilo Petruzzi, Andrea Dovizioso & Valentino Rossi.
Similarly, I've been lucky to be part of The Shell Outriders Trail. My riding partner came all the way from Canada for this exciting experiential learning. Shell has been undertaking brilliant initiatives that make a big difference to bike enthusiasts by giving them the right support. The motorsport community thrives on pioneers like Shell who help them outride anything.”

Mohit’s co-rider Neeraj seemed delighted with the trail experience too. Describing their journey, he said,“The Shell Advanced outriders trails ride provided me with amazing exposure. The scenic landscapes, sweet gestures and warm welcomes from locals we encountered on our journey from Delhi to Spiti are among the many things Mohit and I experienced along the way. For the Journey, we used the Shell Advance Fuel Save, which provided a smoother ride as compared to other brands I had used previously. For this great opportunity, I am grateful to Shell and especially to Mohit.”
Gowtaman (Number Plate), a popular travel content creator and biker, with his co-rider and city winner of the Shell Advance Outriders Contest - Subhash, headed out on their first-ever cross-country biking experience from Chennai to Nepal via Bhubaneswar, Kolkata, and Siliguri.
Their ride was long but not tiring. While speaking about his riding experience, Gowtaman said, “Shell Advance Fuel Save displayed a great initial pickup and high-speed performance all through the ride from Chennai to Nepal. Be it rough terrains, rain or Darjeeling’s mist attack, this engine oil was something we could always count on.” The next motor-head, Paresh, aka Story on Wheels, went on to pick up Dinesh Ramesh Patil as the city winner and his co-rider for the Shell-sponsored road trip. The two travelled to the western parts of India on their bikes. Their route from Thane to Malvan took him through some of the best-hidden gems in Maharashtra, including Amboli, Shiroda, and Walawal.
Dinesh was grateful to Shell for organizing such Initiatives and giving opportunities to riders like him. He said, “Contests like these will motivate riders from small cities. I didn't expect that I'll be selected for riding with Story on Wheels. I enjoyed this ride a lot and learned a lot.” Dinesh was also impressed with Shell Advance Fuel Save’s performance. He explained that the Product enabled them to have no heating issues, and it improved the bike's mileage too.

These bikers sure had the time of their lives with smooth rides through the roads less travelled and to places that the ordinary only aspire to travel to. And all of this was made possible because of Shell's constant efforts to support and improve people’s bike-riding experiences over the years.
