CarryMinati returns to the YouTube vs TikTok controversy with rap song 'Yalgaar'

YouTuber Ajey Nagar, popularly known as CarryMinati, has turned to rap responding to his controversial video that was taken down by YouTube. The song titled 'Yalgaar' sees Carry narrate his side of the story.

The 20-year-old begins the song saying ‘Ek Kahaani Hai Jo Sabko Sunani Hai’ (I have a story to tell everyone) and goes on to take an indirect jibe at TikToker Amir Siddiqui, claiming that he played the “victim card”.

The controversy began when Carry's video 'YouTube vs TikTok — The End' was pulled down by YouTube after it went viral. A legion of fans or “Carry Army” that he had closely cultivated over the last four years, with his famous "roasts" had been so looking forward to this video, that once uploaded, they devotedly “liked” his video for days after it was originally posted. The numbers only kept increasing. Unofficial numbers said 80 million or 8 crore "views", proof of Nagar's soaring popularity, and serious numbers for anyone tracking YouTube metrics.


But YouTube said that the video violated its policy on harassment and bullying, and took it down.

Once the video got taken down, it got only popular, given the way the Internet works. Nagar, who had about 11 million subscribers before that video, saw that count rise. He currently has 20.5 million subscribers on YouTube.
